Who this is for
Students filling in application forms, office staff dealing with documents typed twenty years ago, translators, journalists converting budget figures, and Nepalis abroad who need a birth date in the other calendar. The common thread is that none of these are translation problems — they are format problems.
How the tools work
Every converter runs as JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server, nothing is logged, and once a page has loaded the tool keeps working even if your connection drops. This is deliberate: a lot of the traffic here is on mobile data in places where the connection is not reliable.
Where the data comes from
The Bikram Sambat month-length table is checked against every published Nepali New Year date from 2070 to 2083 BS, and every date in the supported range round-trips cleanly in both directions. For legally binding purposes, still confirm against your citizenship certificate or an official patro.
Dictionary entries are written by hand, one at a time. Each one includes the alternatives a native speaker would choose between and a note on the usage point the word tends to expose. None of them are machine-generated, which is why there are not many of them yet.
Corrections
If a word converts wrongly, a date looks off, or a dictionary entry misses the register, please say so. Corrections that name the specific input and the expected output are the ones that get fixed fastest.
